As a Job Network Employment Service provider STEPS Employment and Training Solutions is committed to delivering professional high quality services to both job seekers and employers. The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) monitor the way STEPS delivers these services for the Commonwealth Government to ensure the highest standard of service delivery.

STEPS Employment Solutions responds to all job seekers without discrimination, whatever their age, ethnic origin, race, colour, political or religious beliefs, gender, disability or sexual preference. All job seekers are treated with respect and dignity and all information discussed is treated as confidential. STEPS Employment Solutions is focussed on empowering and supporting clients to overcome any barriers to sustainable employment and work from a position of social justice for all.

STEPS Employment Solutions provides job vacancy information, job search facilities by way of job search kiosks and job search touch screens. Each of STEPS six sites provides a warm and friendly atmosphere designed to encourage job seekers to utilise the ‘Jobs Place’. The ‘Jobs Place’ is fully equipped with computers linked to career internet sites, an internal STEPS vacancies board, newspapers, government gazettes, telephones, faxes and on site Employment Consultants working to assist job seekers with resumes, action plans, job applications and selection criteria.

At STEPS Employment Services each job seeker is treated as an individual with individual concerns and requirements. Centrelink refers unemployed job seekers to a variety of programs within the Job Network service. These referrals are based on length of unemployment and level of disadvantage such as NESB, mature age, indigenous background or over 12 months unemployed.

Depending on a job seeker's identified needs, they may be offered Job Search Training, Intensive Support Services with a qualified Employment Consultant, Specialist Support Services such as Occupational Counselling or Career Pathway Planning, referrals to targeted mutual obligation community work or the flexibility to focus on job seeking with tailored consultancy based on job readiness.

STEPS Employment Solutions provides a key link to STEPS Training Solutions and STEPS Recruitment Solutions, Services responding with relevant and professional training programs driven by labour market demand, and working closely with both job seekers and employers to match the very best candidate to the job.
